It's been commented on before that the phrase "children's album" has been known to cause hard nose reviewers to run screaming from the room. And certainly no great expectations were present as I slipped this privately distributed kids album onto the CD player. Well. I liked the first song up. "Oh-Ah-Row The Boat", an engaging ditty with almost a Mungo Jerry (remember them?) groove to it, while the wry warnings against over-busyness "Martha And Mary" and unrestrained romanticism "Be Careful Who You Send These Valentines" convinced me that Steve was a top rate new kids communicator. Arrangements, by the Gloryhouse guys, are simple yet effective. Steve's voice is adequate and I've a gut feel this album will be punching home Biblical truth in many a kids bedroom.
