Years before songwriting great Gary Chapman's song,
"Man After YOUR Own Heart"; we hear this album title song. The title song was co-written with ccm artist Rob Frazier(note: for the music fans, Rob also wrote the 1982 hit for pop group Kansas,"Play the Game Tonight"). "After GOD's Own Heart" is top ccm material, great song! Check out the list of bgv's for the album, to include Margaret Becker (co-writer of
"If It Wasn't For The Grace of GOD"), Bob Bennett,
Michele Pillar, Bob Carlisle, Pete Carlson (to name some). The wonderful "Revive Us, O' LORD" is on this classic ccm recording; surely a signature song for Steve and most memorable in the halls of ccm.
The great praise "Come To The LORD" opens side 1,
what a wonderful song! CCM Songstress Michele Wagner (relatively unknown at this time) co-wrote the beautiful & top notch ccm song "Whatever YOU Ask"; this is another lp high-light. What a most wonderful arrangement for the 18th century hymn,
"When I Survey The Wondrous Cross"; the added lyrics by Steve only add to the beauty of the recording:thank you Steve. This album is top ccm.
GOD Bless! -Don
