I like his Reunion-toted album, I liked his recent live album and guess what (no, I can't. Ed), I like this. Mr Grace is surely Australia's finest exponent of the noble art of rock gospel singing, having a nicely gravelly voice, a raunchy guitar style and a way with a song hook. There are plenty of interesting lyric ideas too, the best using the loss of a beloved pick-up truck "Betsy" to make the spiritual point about learning that we should hold possessions lightly and not allow them to possess us. Beautifully crafted songs sung with passion, gutsily played and with economic, no thrills arrangements. Check it out.
