The follow-up to Steve's promising 'In Christ Alone' tape is not quite so enjoyable, sorry to say. Whether it's the choice of material or a slight stylistic misfit, or whatever, but there's a definite lack of confidence conveyed by the performance. On the first two tracks for instance, "I've Got A Love" and "Be Strong And Take Courage", the impression conveyed is that it's a real struggle to achieve lift off. Throughout the tape the quality of the voice occasionally breaks through, but there's far too much going on that just plods and drifts along. Pleasant is about the height of it and Steve should take advice on how to get some bite into his work. More imagination in the backing music would help too. He can do better.
