Steve Curtis Chapman is of course huge CCM in the USA but small over here. This video sees Chapman accompanied on drums and bass showcase a handful of good songs and some filler. He proves himself to be a fine singer sounding like a Nashville Daryl Hall. The cramped stage and intimacy' of the occasion suits the man who builds a good rapport with his audience. Songs like "Who Makes The Rules" and "More To This Life" are finely crafted and well sung. *Me And Herbie" is a trite embarrassing though being about Steve and little brother and a frog? All in all the southern giant from Nashville proves himself a charmer and looks set for a taste of the big time. The video conveys the warmth and sincerity of the artist but the performances miss the swing of his recordings. Check out the album first then buy the video.
