Steven is an award-winning composer of TV and film scores as well as being an Anglican minister and this groundbreaking release of a batch of Psalms not surprisingly has a cinematic feel. With some excellent vocalists, with Emma Holland and David Berrisford being particularly outstanding, and some narrations from Lloyd Notice the effect is powerful. For me the most listenable interpretations were "Psalm 1 (Like A Tree Planted By Streams Of Water)", "Psalm 16 (Keep Me Safe, Oh God)" and the highly dramatic "Psalm 29 (The God Of Glory Thunders)". Clearly Faux is an imaginative composer and he brings the psalmist's timeless lyrics to life with creative aplomb.
