The shock news that this year's Stoneleigh will be its last makes one approach this album, latest in a long line of praise and worship best sellers, with even more interest than normal. Certainly this set doesn't indicate any fall in the quality of the worship stemming from this groundbreaking Bible week. Stoneleigh is famous for good worship and good worship leaders, and Stuart Townend heads the list of quality worship leaders on this CD. The songs are new to most people, as they were mostly written within the last two years. Stu Townend himself contributes most to the album, but Matt Redman and Paul Oakley, to mention but two, also compose songs. The lyrics are heartfelt and profound, yet simple at times (as on "Jesus Be The Centre" by Michael Frye) and the music is typical pop rock, with a bit of calypso creeping in occasionally ("Celebrate In The Lord" by Evan Rodgers)! The only downside to the album (and to most worship albums) is the inevitable over-repetition that can occur due to the worshipful,-lead-by-the-Spirit attitude on the songs. This is great in a service, and it's fine if you are very touched by the spirituality of the CD, so let's hope you are! Within its field still a market leader.
