Reviewed by Matthew Cordle Stoneshadows is Dennis and Georgia Clifton, a couple who have been writing music together since they were at the University of Texas. Their music combines elements of folk, country and easy listening styles and they liken their music to Enya, Moya Brennan, Andreas Boccelli, Josh Groban, Sarah Brightman and Willie Nelson, but I'm afraid I would not put this in the same league as any of those artists - it sounds considerably more twee, especially in the light of these high-level benchmarks they have set themselves. Dennis has a strong voice that reminds me of Don Francisco or John Michael Talbot with a heavier vibrato, and the music certainly has overtones of John Michael Talbot's style but lacks the maturity of his sound. Georgia's voice and the voices of the ladies mentioned above are chalk and cheese - Georgia's voice, whilst not unpleasant, sounds thin and rather weak and doesn't always seem to quite get the pitch accurate. The arrangements are musical but sometimes the fine details are a little slack. For example, the ending chord of "Have A Little Faith" doesn't sound together and so sounds sloppy. The overall sound is also a little tinny, as if the high frequencies have been boosted too much on mastering. All in all, a weak CD.
