With their distinctive piano-driven rock songs now getting airplay things are looking good for Strive, after several years building a support base in their native Chicago. It easy to see why. Their music is a perfect blend of piano and guitar, big on melody and with a positive message. This four song EP kicks off with "Better Way" and it instantly reminds me of San Francisco's Train, although it's the closer "Away From Here" that leaves the lasting impression, with its pretty backing vocals and message of overcoming challenges and coming out stronger. Strive are very generously giving this EP away. All you have to do is register on their website, www.strivefans.com, and it's all yours.
