Superchick are boisterous. Although with Tricia and Melissa Brock providing the girly vocals, the instrumental backing of Matt Dally on bass, Dave Ghazarian of lead guitar, and Max Hsu on keyboards is pugnacious. Reinvention is described in places as a remix album, which has misleading connotations of a dance remix. This is certainly pop with a feelgood factor. For example "Karaoke Superstars (Shiny Car Advert Mix)" is about driving along in the car, turning the music up and singing along. In fact the whole album has a positive uplifting message. This is teen girly pop with a bit of attitude, hence comparisons to Avril Lavigne although the lead singer looks more like Debbie Harry. One of the remixes is even sub-titled "Teens Falling In/Out Of Love". These reinvented tracks are certainly more electronic than their pop rock originals, which may win them a wider audience, but they don't lose their rocky foundation. "Let It Roll" stands out for its similarities to Toby Mac's vocal style and "Pure" has a great hook in the chorus. Studio whiz Max Hsu has done a great job reinventing these oldies for 2010.

Product Description
With their new project Reinvention, Grammy-nominated Superchick goes back to the studio to reinvent their favourite songs. Drawing inspiration from the nearly 100 TV shows, video games and movies that use their music, Superchick has created a soundtrack album for fast car chases, giant fighting robots, teen romance and bad guys walking in slow motion. 3 new singles, Still Here and a solo breakout from bassist Matt Dally entitled Let It Roll, accompany nine reinventions pulled from every album in the band's discography. "These are songs we love; it means a lot to us to get the chance to go back into the studio as a band and rebuild them from the ground up. We have the technology. We can make them better, stronger, louder," says Max Hsu, the band's founder, producer and studio recluse. Having taught themselves wireflying for the Cross The Line music video, Superchick plans even more ridiculous and dangerous videos for these cinematic respins, to begin shooting immediately following their headlining tour this spring with John Reuben.
