Reba McEntire's sister has found a niche Stateside with her country gospel albums and now this 20-song (seven of them in two medleys) journey through the hymnal brings a country take to old classics from the likes of Fanny Crosby, Charlotte Elliott, Horatio Spafford and John Newton. Slightly surprising to hear Stuart Townend's "How Deep The Father's Love For Us" in such company but it works well in a country setting. Nice too to have potted biographies of all the hymnwriters in the CD booklet. If you're looking for country renditions of timeless hymns, look no further.
