If there's anything in my role of music reviewer for this esteemed publication that might send me screaming for a darkened room, a quick lie-down and a soothing cafe latte, then it's the prospect of having to listen to yet another meditational instrumental album, especially when the track list is full of familiar tunes. What redeems this one from the average (and below average) is that Sylvia's style on the concert grand is unashamedly classical. If I had a pound for every bad arrangement I've heard of "Be Thou My Vision", "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms" and "It Is Well With My Soul", then I could probably buy my own radio station, but some care has gone into this and it shows. A pleasant surprise, and worth investigating.
