Nicky Cruz has been ministering for the past four decades in the streets, prisons and high schools. Since the '90s, came a passion to train others in urban evangelism. Out of this came TRUCE (To Reach Urban Communities Everywhere) based in New York, to help evangelise using urban music and performing arts. This CD gets a high mark on the basis of the music and the ministry it represents. We start up with the lively East Coast roller with R&B flavas, "Are You Ready?" challenging people to live, pray, believe and receive Jesus, "Christ the bread of life, but the world on Atkins." We enter crunk territory in "Go Fast" where lyrical flows vary it up - we even enter ragga territory. "Bless You" is a banger where R&B meets east coast. Uplifting track and hook "All we wanna do is bless you". Next up are three R&B tracks encouraging us to "spit out the world's taste." There's a heartfelt message behind every track but the testimony from Ray Nobles on "Lost But Now I'm Found" stands out capturing both the street vibe of the CD and the life-changing Gospel of Jesus. "Warriorz Cry" is a head-nodding track, very Corey Red/Precise. We end with the words "It's time to believe." Amen.

Product Description
Nicky Cruz is a former gang leader from New York City whose life story was told in the book and movie, The Cross and the Switchblade, which starred Pat Boone and Erik Estrada, and in his multi-million bestseller, Run, Baby, Run.
Since the early 90s, Nicky has been gripped by a passion to train others in evangelism. Out of this passion the TRUCE (To Reach Urban Communities Everywhere) training center was birthed, training inner-city youth in aggressive outreach using the tools of urban music and the performing arts. Instead of retreating in fear in face of the urban, hip hop culture, they prefer to communicate to that culture in a language that it will understand. The music of TRUCE is decidedly urban with an East Coast feel. Smooth RnB vocals mixed in with gritty rap lyrics make for a catchy and infectious collection of high-energy tracks.
While it’s easy to get caught up in the lyrical delivery and musicality of these emcees, the one element that is not lost on this project is ministry. TRUCE reaches the street with a real message that glorifies Christ as the solution while being candid about the issues that are real to the streets.
The individual members of TRUCE come from all 5 boroughs of New York City and represent 8 different churches, 5 different denominations and 2 Christian Colleges. This dedicated group of artists has seen and experienced things that were meant to destroy them – drugs, alcohol, gang and domestic violence, parents committing suicide, sexual abuse. Yet, through the power of God, they have overcome and are now on a mission to reach others trapped in the same hopeless lifestyles.
TRUCE will be in London during July 2006 for a mission outreach with Nicky Cruz.

These guys came to Hackney Ocean last year and they were awesome. They blew away the mind of many londoners and many ghetto youths. I even got to meet Nicky Cruz himself with the rest of his family who are Rosa, Alicia and Isabella. then even signed my Run Baby Run book. So now i have a moment that i can remember that i met 1 of the greatest people within the Christian Religion. His book is very inspiring and his life-story, emotional. Run Baby Run is one of the best books of our modern time and should be a piece of studied English Literature. As for it will teach kids the morales of the streets from a person that has faced them head on and lived to tell his emotionala nd extrodinary tale.
If you ain't read Run Baby Run by Nicky Cruz, then there is only one recommendation, Go out and buy the book. t's a must-read for any one
