Atlanta-based T Lynn Smith has a long musical pedigree as worship leader, collaborator and vocal coach. A well travelled young woman, who has began playing drums since she was six years old and now plays organ and piano, T Lynn has put together a set of 10 songs which combine traditional gospel sounds ("Jesus, We Bless Your Name" and "God Is Worthy Of All Our Praise") with more contemporary fare ("The Way You Love Me" and "Just Wanna Say"). She is joined on some of the tracks by Krystal Moore, Debi Dixon, Chantea Cann and Latrice Pace, and there's a pretty good set of instrumentalists giving support as well. All in all, it's a fairly sound debut, but there's nothing terribly original in any of it and the limitations of T Lynn's own voice are obvious from time to time. I was left with the impression that there's a great deal more that she is capable of, but this album only hints at what that might be.
