It has taken a long time for Tammy Trent to pick up her recording career following the death of her husband in a diving accident in September 2001. Tammy recounts her story in an interview with Mike Rimmer published elsewhere on the Cross Rhythms website - it's well worth reading if you're considering buying 'I See Beautiful' (particularly the background to the song "Stop The World"), so I won't elaborate any further here. Five years on, the material included on Tammy's comeback album reflects a faith which has not only weathered that personal tragedy, but which now has an integrity born of experience, such as the mention of the "path of Job" on "Rescue Me", and in her thoughtful rendition of Kathryn Scott's "At The Foot Of The Cross". Balancing the obvious poignancy of these ballads, Tammy reasserts her R&B credentials with "Real Life", "Pray" (especially "The Floodzone Remix" version), and "I'm Not Listening". In the past Tammy Trent hasn't had much of a fanbase in Britain, but that might well change on the strength of 'I See Beautiful', especially with ICC now handling UK distribution.

It's been a God-sent to find this cd, as most of the
gospel stores in the area have closed. Most of the
classic CCM is out of print, hard to find :( .
To Tammy: GOD has used you in a mighty way :), we
are blessed to hear your music. When I hear "At the
Foot of the Cross", I am moved within; your voice is
simple beauty. GOD Bless! -Don

A gospel music channel was airing new videos by ccm artists, it was August summer 2006. I heard this wondrous, new & beautiful song entitled "At The Foot Of The Cross". I was so taken by the welcoming sound of the voice and tune.
Nearly 20 years prior, former ccm singer Ray Boltz had a top song by the same title.
Tammy Trent's inviting vocals, tendered soft and pure, take hold of the listener's heart as intended.
Tim Miner is a guest vocalist on this cd, a well known ccm artist since the 80's:I remember his duet with Cindy Cruse (Cruse Family) "Always".
Thank you Tammy for bringing back the message that has been watered down. GOD Bless! -Don
ps. got to purchase this cd
