At first glance this Teeside band's Tau's debut CD, looks pretty good. The cover, booklet etc look very professional and interesting. It's a shame I can't say the same about the musical content. There seems to be no cohesive basic style, rather singular band members trying to do their own thing. This is an album trying to be all things to all men. Vocalist Sarah, who came over from Texas to join the band, seems to be impersonating someone else, like an impression of a singer she wants to be instead of being herself - her own voice. I also don't particularly like Dan's voice which is too nice for what he's attempting - more worship leader than rocker. The music is a mish-mash of styles from hardcore grunge through power ballad to folk rock. There seems to be no foundation here at all. It's as though the individual members would be better suited to other bands where they can allow their own styles to develop. The production is ok, but the mix-down isn't great either.
