Captain Kirk reviewed a couple of recent Terry Clark albums in CR58 bringing us up to date with what the Christian music veteran is doing now. Now here's my chance to get caught up with some of the back catalogue! 'Heaven Is Not That Far Away' reunites him with his brothers in the aptly named Clark Brothers Band for a bluesy album allowing Terry to sing like a cross between Dr John and Phil Driscoll! Recorded in 1990, there are still lots here worthy of your attention. Like many who came to faith during the Jesus Movement, Terry continues to be strongly ministry focused so these songs minister. From the inspiration of "Jesus Is Alive" to the hope of Christ offered in the middle of pain in "Friends Come And Go", all of the songs here are written with a purpose. For me, my favourite is the gospel blues of the title track, which opens the album.
