The third album I've reviewed by this chap (his previous two were credited Terry Wayne Fogle) and these simple self-composed recordings convey a lack of pretension that proves refreshing. As previously the laid back musical content of ambient keyboards and classical and acoustic guitar solos combine with Terry's somewhat idiosyncratic monotone vocals realize songs that indicate a genuine worship towards God in songs such as "God Is Good" and "Praise You". Only "Changed By The Book" marks a change in writing style from direct references to God to a story telling technique that journeys through the life of a delinquent following his conversion upon reading the Bible. If one considers the effort put into this there is encouragement in the tremendous sense of optimism and hope in Terry's words ministering to troubled souls. With a meagre budget and resources there is worthwhile commitment indicated here to also encourage other independent music makers to pursue their own talents and to believe in the courage of their convictions. All this inspires us to follow the words of the man himself... "Rest, But Don't Quit".
