The Ark Christian Centre are doing stirling work in bringing rocky, poppy worship, very much in the style of Hillsongs Australia, to Britain. Worship leaders Mike and Lois Radcliffe have assembled an excellent band and though Lois isn’t quite in the Darlene Zschech class, her passionate, gutsy tones are suited to both the praise stompers and the tender worship ballads here while the band, recorded live at Weston College, are tight, bright and clearly know their stuff. The group’s songwriter, Steven Willows, weighs in with four songs and they’re every bit as good as the eight Hillsong covers here. If you enjoy the unfettered exuberance of Hillsong praise you need to investigate these anointed ambassadors now making Somerset ring with praise.
