Great ambassadors for the art of Welsh male voice singing, this contains the cream of their recorded work from various albums over about 20 years. Really, it's a showcase of typical traditional Welsh fare, rich in emotion, saturated with the soul of an often painful history. Not that it's all local music, material has been gathered from other sources, including familiar spirituals "Jacob's Ladder" and "Dry Bones", also "Psalm 23", "The Lord's Prayer" and "Battle Hymn Of The Republic". Good stuff, but it has to be said that it's on their own ground with something like the exquisite "Myfanwy" that the choir's full power comes bursting through. Moving, artistic music of the people, a valuable listening experience.
