It's gratifying to find that Ace Records are still committed to reissuing historical gospel works and, with this 45 reissue of two Clark Sisters tracks, they've certainly gone the extra mile. Authentically bearing the logo of the Detroit-based group's original record company Sound of Gospel, Ace have managed to unearth the super rare single edit of the Sisters' "Everything Is Gonna Be Alright" - previously shelved at the time of its lengthier counterpart's release in 1979 on the 'He Gave Me Nothing To Lose' album - whilst the B side features a shortened version of the early '80s monster hit "You Brought The Sunshine (Into My Life)". Despite the deliberately curtailed nature of both of these tracks, the sheer class of the Clark Sisters shines through with the group's trademark hybrid disco/gospel sound stealing the show whilst lead singer and writer of both tracks Elbernita "Twinkie" Clark certainly has to be one of soul music's greatest if less celebrated exponents.
