This is the group that started waaaay back in 1973 with their debut album 'Jesus Has A Lot To Give' being released while the Detroit sisters were barely in their teens. Now, 13 albums later - and their first album since 1994's 'Miracle' - comes this CD and DVD gift edition of the sisters' last album. It's already been awarded a fully deserved eight out of 10 in a Cross Rhythms review. It's catchy mainstream gospel and r'n'b performed live at a Houston church gig in 2006. The 90 minute DVD is not the actual recording of the album, however. Instead, 12 of the album's songs are featured in a somewhat intimate and, therefore, non-atmospheric setting. Although it's very professionally recorded, it's a studio gig in front of a hundred or so fans. Bonus features include only 20 minutes worth of highlights at the Houston church gig. This has much more atmosphere than the studio gig and includes several costume changes and praise breaks! One presumes technical problems stopped the whole Houston gig appearing on DVD. Certainly, fans of the album will be disappointed not to get a full recording of the actual concert rather than this more tepid recreation.
