This Scottish group were together in the '60s and recorded a couple of albums in 1966 and 1967. This final vinyl single was released in 1969 and is very much of its time. It's the harmony vocals and jangly guitars that filled the coffee bars of the era. OK, the recording isn't the most sophisticated but there's something determined and quite radical about a band like this getting out in a grassroots level and sharing their faith through music. The A side here is their version of the Curtis Mayfield tune "People Get Ready" which had been a big hit for Mayfield's group The Impressions. Plenty of charm and jangle though of course not in the same league as the original. The B side "Me-God" was penned by bassist Gordon Webster and features a tasty bit of quite daring fuzz guitar which I can imagine might have shocked a few folks back then.
