Reviewed by Peter John Willoughby This is the third album by the band from Halifax, Nova Scotia. The band is fronted by Geoffrey Fifield and their publicity blurb likens them to U2 and the Foo Fighters, which is misleading. Rather, they show the influence of Coldplay, Radiohead and Muse, but with a more positive outlook. 'Canvas Tears' was mixed by Chuck Zwicky (Prince, The Rembrandts) and mastered by Dave Collins (The Police, Bruce Springsteen), so you can expect quality sound production. There are hooks aplenty along with the ballads and mini moog featured throughout. One standout, "Could This Be The End Of The Hiding?", is co-written with the producer, Quinlan. My favourite track though is the cover of Peter Schilling's "Major Tom (Coming Home)", which is a synth rock retelling of Bowie's 1969 classic "Space Oddity".
