Another smooth set of acoustic country from this highly talented family group. This really is a most acceptable form of the genre. Polished, close harmony vocals, sentimental songs that stay sensible, delightful musicianship from all concerned - a great package. Much of the proceedings, such as the classic Dusty Rose and Rose Maddox composition "Beautiful Bouquet" have a ringing bluegrass flavour. The Carter Family standard "I'll Be All Smiles Tonight" and the traditional "Little Birdie" are handled with loving respect. There's an outstanding version of Roy Orbison's "Blue Bayou", and if you enjoy acoustic excellence then "Streets Of Gold" is the track for you. The album is produced and arranged by Alison Krauss, who also contributes her award winning fiddle-playing skills. Top quality, authentic country and not a hat in sight.
