This 1993 release by "The Legendary" Dixie Hummingbirds is dedicated to the memory of James Walker, lead singer and songwriter, who died in October 1992 aged 66. Featuring Walker on at least four tracks my razor-sharp logical brain tells me it must have been recorded earlier in 1992! This is finely crafted and stylish black gospel/R&B ranging from up-beat gospel style on "Let Us Praise Him" to harmonious acapella on "It Will Be So Wonderful" to the delightfully slow bluesy numbers like "I'll Be Free" and "Thank You For One More Day". The Dixie Hummingbirds were, of course, one of the legendary quartets travelling the "50's Gospel Highway and it's great lo learn that in the "90s they've still got some fuel in the tank.
