Based on the west coast of America, the Franchise's energetic power pop/punk isn't exactly earth shatteringly original but it's delivered with passion and vitality. With titles like "Original Inevitable", "The Priceless Sound Of Escape" and "Catharsis" and a bunch of very wordy songs, there's an overall feel of intelligence here underpinning these neat little anthems. Unfortunately, what is missing is anything that would distinguish this band from the many already plying their trade on Tooth & Nail or BEC. What is also missing is the punch the air joyful hooky choruses that should pull me out of my seat while listening to this. Instead what you get is solid, loud but ultimately doesn't make me want to play the album again now I've written this.
