A sticker on the cover proclaims that this album has "echoes of Kate Rusby, Clannad and Fleetwood Mac" and that is a rather accurate description of what you will find therein. One could go as far as to say Clannad without the reverb! Featuring the songwriters behind the musical 'City Of Gold', Phil Baggaley and Ian Blythe, and an exceptional pure-voiced lead singer in Bethan Court, this is a soothing collection of 10 songs which, whilst not overtly Christian, feature themes of despair turned to hope and the wonder of God's creation. There is a great maturity about these songs, from the lament of "Gunmetal Grey" to the moving "Another Rainbow" and they are sung superbly by Bethan. Listen out for Mal Pope too, who features as guest vocalist on "Butterfly Waltz" and backing vocalist on "Watching It Slip Away". This is a great album and, if you like any of the artists already mentioned, I think you will find this an excellent choice.

Product Description
Closed For Winter is a genre-defying blend incorporating elements of folk, country and rock from acclaimed songsmiths Phil Baggaley and Ian Blythe. Their subtle, intelligent, intimate and spiritual songs are the perfect platform for the smooth and achingly-beautiful vocals of Bethan Court. Following critical acclaim and popular performances throughout the UK, the band’s second album is bound beautifully together with musical influences as diverse as Fleetwood Mac and Kate Rusby.
