In the world of CCM it's hard enough to make ends meet and find that record deal, ask anyone from metal heads to dance merchants. So imagine the road that lies ahead for this bunch of talented young musos, in the neglected, marginalised and often seedy world of authentic jazz. Some of you may remember Jazz Phd who played a late night gig at the Impact festival a few years ago... Well, they've been reborn as the wonderfully named Hung Drawn Quartet and have shown their dedication to their chosen art form by just getting this CD out! Borrowed digital recorders and a ton of patience have produced a crystal clear jazz disc. Breath control, dexterity and skill abound on this great little album. Some very cool arrangements by these four sax players come from their own pens and offer a disc that could help fill the void for all those fans of bands like The Fairer Sax. Check it out.
