An independent five track CD from a California band formed in 1999. The last fact I find surprising, as the unity in the music is obvious, as is the ease in which the musicians work together. By pouring thousands of pounds into a project and using many musicians and tracks on a recording it is easy to hide discrepancies and average talent. The Infamous They push their talent and musicianship to the front by keeping things simple, and they do it well . The sound is reminiscent musically of Split Level with a hint of Bloodgoods. As another critic put it, these guys "combine some of the best elements of the '80s." The singer's voice, similar to that of John Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls) has that character and appeal that stands alone without the need for backing. If this band are not picked up and in the mainstream CCM market soon I will be much surprised. I want to hear more.
