A nice idea to re-issue this album (originally released through Columbia Records) to commemorate Bishop John Francis' long time participation in the British gospel scene. Unfortunately, this 1985 recording hasn't aged too well, the major problem is that the producers were clearly trying to capture a white audience with this release and consequently some of the material The Inspirationals were asked to sing during their with Columbia is entirely inappropriate for a full on gospel choir. Some of the stilted arrangements don't help either. Occasionally a glimpse of soul power comes momentarily into view but in truth this is a release of more historic value than an example of British gospel at its best.
