Historic recordings from the "Beatles decade" by the band that's over 100 years old! CD one contains new recordings of pieces used at the time, some over 10 minutes long such as "The Holy War" (inspired by John Bunyan's book of the same name) and the majestic "The Present Age" alongside shorter pieces such as the lively "California" and the beautiful "Redeeming Love". CD two contains a selection of previous recordings from albums released between 2000 and 2008, conducted by Stephen Cobb. The CD also features an interview with Stephen. Of major interest here are the two musical works written by the renowned Eric Ball, "Song Of Courage" and "Songs Of Exile", during Ball's brief writing period with the Staff Bandmaster, Bernard Adams. Overall the collection is a good reflection of the time, but isn't quite as enjoyable as other volumes in the series.
