Long-time followers of brass band music will know that the ISB are the best known and most praised ensemble of the genre. The title of this set is from a track inspired by the "pulse of God's heart and a prayer for integrity." Staff Bandmaster Dr Stephen Cobb, a role he has held since 1994, does a fine job in overseeing this project which opens with "Let There Be light", mixing an energetic piece with the well-known Genesis phase. Intertwined with this is the chorus "Light Of The World". This formula is repeated with "Still", reflecting on Psalm 40 while referring to a Hillsong chorus. Other tracks explore "The Armour Of God" and "At The Cross" written for cadets in 2014. Although there are no surprises here, the arrangements and execution are of the highest standard. Brass band music doesn't get much better than this.

I couldn't agree more. This must be one of the best ever albums issued by the ISB. The bravura pieces are wonderfully played but, for me, the quiet and reflective music is a particular blessing, especially 'At the Cross'. Outstanding gifting and talent of composers and musicians used to the glory of God!
