Yep, we all know the London Community Gospel Choir are fine exponents of gospel fire and with so few LCGC albums having emerged down the years (this is still only their seventh) this devotee is prepared to give serious consideration to this set, even when it contains "Oh Holy Night", "Joy To The World" and "Silent Night". Yes, it's another cliched Christmas project, recorded to tie in with a 12-week LCGC Christmas tour. And there are a few nice moments (the soulful sista putting some righteous fervour into "Oh Holy Night" and the shuffling rhythm of "Just Be Love") but the only track that really kicks is "Christmas Medley" with Rev Bazil kicking up a storm over some traditional gospel oldies. Elsewhere, one is left regretting that such great vocal chops are put to such little effect.
