The Mannix Collective is a group of London-based musicians fronted by vocalist Mannix Lee, pianist Mark Waterman and Clinton Brookes. Waterman and Brookes are the songwriters and producers of the four tracks featured on this debut release. The music style is reminiscent of '80s funk bands with a Latin undertone to them with some tasty Spanish guitar interjections and plenty of punchy brass riffs. It's all done with reasonable competence though the lack of variation in music styles makes this EP begin to lose its attraction.
