Seven years have passed since The McClurkin Project released their first self-titled album. Their first album was a major success for Donnie McClurkin's brothers and sisters and a follow up has been eagerly awaited. 'We Praise You' should satisfy existing and new fans with its heavenly harmonies, punchy production and heart-stirring lyrics. The title track is lively and a bold start to the album, which remedies the reservedness they may have had in their previous release. The rapture-inspired "In the News Today" shows them in their element. The ensemble have, intriguingly, included Rueben Morgan's "I Need You Here" on this set and this soothing rendition has been arranged with a call and response format that is really effective. Gospel ace Donnie does not eclipse his family here, all the group demonstrate impressive vocal ability. "If You're Ever Feeling Lonely" illustrates the ample talent when all the powerful voices produce musical bliss in the line "If you're ever feeling lonely, call me and I'll be there." Along with their overwhelming singing capability, they have impeccable vocal control, using their gifted larynxes to make a rich, impressive sound. I believe this is going to be a great encouragement to people, as fans will see the testimony of this group through this CD.
