The Northumbria Community has been based near Holy Island for over 20 years, seeking through what they term a new monasticism to find fresh insights into the ancient traditions of Aidan and Columba, and all who have followed the Celtic way for the last 14 centuries. And as we enter the 21st century, the echoes of the Celtic saints can still bring a little old-time tranquillity into the frantic technology-driven world in which we live. This CD contains the Community's Morning, Noon and Evening sung liturgies, together with spoken liturgies for morning, noon and evening, and Complines, prayers for use last thing at night, for each day of the week. The Community also produces prayer books for daily and night prayer to accompany the CD, which are also available from Cloisters. Production is taken care of by Chris Norton, the sung liturgies have a straightforward and uncomplicated appeal, and the spoken liturgies and Complines are in true Celtic tradition
