Here's one of those bands that's very hard to categorise, but the end result is a highly entertaining four-track EP. The three-piece line up - Ian Herring on guitar and vocals; Stuart Catmur, drums and vocals; and Dave Harvey, bass and vocals -have produced this EP themselves, and more power to them. The production is well balanced and the mix is highly polished. Good job lads. There's variety aplenty on each song. Opener "You Turn Me" fuses Latin, African and ska - thanks to some nifty playing. "Waiting For The Sky To Fall" is normally the set closer, and it's not hard to see why. A seven minute epic, complete with moody but excellent guitar solo, the ending seems to cut out a little soon for my liking. "Babylon Falling" is an R&B/pub rock scamper, with singer Herring sounding at times eerily like Mark Knopfler. Matters come to a close with the Van Morrison-esque "What Good Did The Morning Ever Do?" (quite). These guys are already supporting the likes of the legendary Hamsters, and judging by this project they have an assured future. They could perhaps, as they themselves admit, do with a keyboard player before long, but apart from that, nice one chaps. Gruff vocals fused with tight musicianship. Keep it up.
