The Steels recently came and played at a pub gig in Stoke organised by a university mission and, by all accounts, proved themselves to be an excellent, edgy rock band. Unfortunately, this album doesn't do them justice and never really rises above the merely competent. Maybe it was the lack of flare in the production or maybe it was simply that singer Adam Carmichael's songs too often follow tried and tested patterns. But either way, this isn't likely to be the album to establish them on the national scene. Throughout, they're tight and Adam's guitar work is impressive, and clearly they've come a long way from the raw metal sound of their Steel Machine origins. But songs with stronger hooks and more memorable arrangements will be needed if they're to rise to the next level.

J'étais à votre concert à Hastings cet été. C'était génial !!! Au début, on n'avait pas compris que l'on était dans un concert catholique... on n'avait pas saisi les paroles, mais vu notre niveau en anglais ça ne m'étonne pas.
Bonne continuation !

I've only just found this site. This album has been in my collection for a long time...infact the day it was released it was in my collection. can't wait for the next one. These guys really feel their calling from God and express it through their musical ability. I agree with all of the above comments, This album is a must have with very catchy tunes to be enjoyed by Christians and non-Christians alike. A strong message shared by three very energetic people wanting to share Gods message.

Keep up the good work guys. May you continue to bring people closer to God through your music.

I think that they have a fantastic talent to speak the message of God through their music without stuffing it down peoples throats!! For a debut album i think they have achieved something that not many people could have achieved....there will obviously be the odd few people that will disagree but its not up to them, its what the majority think....Which is quite clear, they love you and they have every reason to do so.

Keep God at the centre and you will go very far indeed.

Totally awesome. Quite simply a good fun album. And the word on the street is that there's some new stuff out soon. I can't wait.

Just had these guy come and play in Hasting on the back of a truck in the town centre. These guys rocked. A stack of people turned up in the high street - young and old. And what can i say? The Steels rocked. So good in this outreach scenario that we are booking them again! Great stage presence, powerful lyrics and these guys know how to rock out!

Really well produced tripe. All the other reviews on this page are just too complimentary. If I was honest I would say these recordings are ok. But I've got to be Simon Cowel to balance all this over positive stuff. Boys - don't read this. record listening public - Read this - The album is mediocre by secular standards. Sadly it's fairly alright by christian standards.
