Not being brought up in a church environment, and my main experience of church since becoming a Christian being of the 'charismatic' variety, I must confess that most of these 'Inspirational Favourites' were totally unfamiliar to me. That having been said I do have a soft spot for 'light orchestral' style music and on that basis alone this album made for an extremely enjoyable listening experience. Paul Mickelson's arrangements are truly first class, the pace and flow of the quieter pieces are gentle without being dull and the more dramatic renditions really draw out the forceful emotional and spiritual potential of a string orchestra. This coupled with some exceptional musicianship makes for what I'm sure will be one of the better instrumental hymn albums of the year.

I have been trying to obtain a copy of this music for years
after destroying the first copies I had on cassette. I really wish I could find them Volumes 1 & 2 that is.
