Catchy piano based pop tunes is the deal in Swift land. This debut album from an American band who sound more like Ben Folds in style, than Coldplay (piano-led) with more of an All Star United vocal. The sound works, there are cool harmonies and soaring guitars removing the potential twee-ness. It is hard to feature a piano so prominently in a band and keep it credible, but this is what The Swift have managed creating a new sound within the CCM industry. Sometimes however, the songs are too predictable and I would prefer more experimentation with ideas. The choruses may be catchy but there is a whole that a couple of album tracks would fit in nicely. Instead we have an album of packed with potential singles, which for some is a great thing, but for me lacks any breathing space.
