The band formerly known as Dust are establishing themselves slowly in the mainstream arena with indie distribution and an astonishing pair of singles. Singer/guitarist Marc James, drummer Jimmy Cooke and bassist Nick Bright are a powerful outfit and their second pitch at the mass market, the incendiary "Corner Of My Mind" is 150 seconds of pounding drums, thumping bass, thrashing guitar and growling vocals that bristles with passion and a surprising amount of melody! It's the sort of single that will knock you off your feet. Second track is a gig favourite! "Rock And A Hard Place" is taken from an XFM session and again rocks out, featuring some excellent guitar from James. The final cut features a slightly mellower band but even when they're quiet, there's still an intensity to this live recording of "Bitter Feelings". I liked the previous single "Soul Collides" but I'm blown away by "Corner Of My Mind" and can't wait for the promised debut album next year!
