The second album from the worship crew from Hong Kong's Vine Christian Fellowship goes all out to glorify God. It was written and delivered by the likes of worship leaders Joshua Wong and Tom Read. Recorded live in front of an enthusiastic congregation, songs like Read's "The Real Thing" and the reflective title track mark the relationship between singer and Saviour whilst the opener "Every Nation" is a rallying cry to believers across the globe to bow the knee in worship. Despite its Chinese roots, it is difficult to differentiate this release from the contemporary worship offerings so prevalent in the US, UK and Australian markets and it does make one think that perhaps the Hong King church needs to open its worship music to indigenous influences. Nonetheless, a raft of quality material and the inclusion of a number of different vocalists such as Read, Wong, Alison Lau and even a guest turn from Tim Hughes on "God Of Justice" makes this collection a worthy addition to the world of worship music. Included in the package is a DVD containing straightforward concert footage as well as some inspiring soundbites from the Vine Band's worship leaders that tackle topics such as the meaning of worship and putting compassion into action - not least through their partnership with orphan charity Care For Children. All and all, this is an enjoyable record of an exciting time in the development of the church in Hong Kong.
