For a few brief seconds of the soft opening with female vocals you could be forgiven for thinking this was another MOR praise and worship album. That illusion is quickly dispelled as Superchic[k] let go in punky guitar thrashing mode totally abandoned to a "Holy Moment". Nick Gonzales (Salvador) who brings a more mellow acoustic vibe to the track "I Wanna Be Clean". I love the backing on this and many of the tracks. Back to the artists, Ron Luce (The Waiting) appears on three tracks as does Melissa Tawlks. This release is tied in with a tour of the States that started in September 2001 and finishes in May 2002, entitled Unshakeable and instigated by a youth organisation that goes under the banner of Aquire The Fire. This may be dodgy info because my computer seemed to object to staying on their website over a few seconds, but they seem to be similar to our own Message (The Tribe). "Unshakeable promises to be a battle cry for a generation of believers," as quoted on the sleeve. Good old rock music in places, hints of scratching, drum and bass all in a marvellous mix of worship. "The Air I Breathe" is a song I love and with lyrics like "I am desperate for you" can only be expressed in the honest earthy treatment such as Ron Luce gives it. Two songs that are anthem candidates are the title track with its stay-in-head chorus sung by Phil Joel (The Newsboys) and Plumb`s "History Maker". I would have preferred to have heard the song "Wonderful Cross" sung straight without being entwined with the lyrics of an old hymn. But that's a minor quibble for an album that's razor sharp and if handled carefully could cut open a hard heart.
