The success of the original ‘Offerings: A Worship Album’ took everybody a little by surprise. Those who knew their CCM could have told you that Atlanta, Georgia’s Third Day were one of America’s finest purveyors of bluesy rock music and had in Mac Powell one of the most arresting singers in Christendom. But it still shook everybody when their live praise and worship project sold in such huge quantities and catapulted the band to the status of million-sellers. Now this new album, produced by Third Day and Monroe Jones (Bebo Norman, Paul Colman Trio, etc, etc) continues the live worship experience with six songs recorded during the band’s Come Together tour of 2002 plus another six studio cuts including four written by members of the band. Often when live and studio recordings are mixed the effect is unconvincing but here there is a continuity of sound with loud, raw guitars and Mac Powell’s soulfully rasping vocals which make this a moving worship experience and a significant artistic triumph.

This next instalment in the Offerings worship series provides a dynamic blend of contemporary favourites destined to become classics, and worship moments captured live. Less than two years previously, Third Day decided to create a project specifically for their fans. With almost a decade of touring under their belts, the Atlanta-based rockers had become known for kinetic live shows that incorporated modern worship with the band's signature southern style.
