Remix products are distinctly variable. Too often they can be little more than stop-gap releases where bands hand over some of their masters to be given a bit of dancefloor appeal. But in this case, the first ever remix project from Canada's Thousand Foot Krutch, is a revelation, and for this we have Britain's EDM veterans Andy Hunter and Robbie Bronniman to thank for bringing rhythmic invention to already strong songs. Hunter's remix of "War Of Change" and his more drum'n'bass reimagination of "I Get Wicked" are both strong while the new remix of "Let The Sparks Fly" by Bronniman improves immensely on the rather unimaginative dubstep version available earlier. Pride of place goes to "Light Up The Sky" which is a piece of stomping electronica which somehow retains its rock edge. This gem comes courtesy of Family Force 5's Solomon Olds. If there's a better remix project released in the last few years I haven't heard it.
