"Thre3 always creates an intense mood that captures hearts and captivates minds. Fans leave asking, 'Was that a concert or a creative renaissance?'" - No, not my opinion but a sample from the promo blurb. Pity they don't say where they found the fans - I'd sure like a few in the same colour. As you have probably guessed, I am not fully in agreement, but I have heard worse. Thre3's, or let's say, Three's philosophy appears to consist of cramming dis-associated ideas and images into a bag, shaking same, pouring over floor thus creating art. Mix with Christianity and the message is at best confused. Lyrically there are strong Christian themes but these are partially formed, and we are presented with a rash of poetic miscarriages. Musically, the songs sound principally simple non-diatonic chord progressions with little variation/development of the basic theme. The arrangements rely heavily on digital delay for their effectiveness, although that said the level of musicianship is quite acceptable and there is some good guitar work. Nonetheless, this is a debut album and if the band focus on their music rather than egocentric "arty" image future results could be impressive.
