Timothy is a Bedford-based artist who funded this, his debut EP, through the platform Kickstarter in 2017. The stated focus of the five-track collection is to provide the listener "with a glimmer of hope, a silver lining in a world of dark clouds." The opener "Hornet's Nest", with its "semi jazz" keyboard opening, quickly sets the uplifting musical pace which is maintained almost throughout. "London Daydream" is a picture painting portrait of visiting the city, it displays great songwriting exploring "offices dressed in grey and lost in dreams." The collection finishes with the title track, the one slow song here, the lyrics empathizing with the listener who may be experiencing "Pouring rain/Please don't say/My dreams of technicolour/Wake and weep in grey", Timothy's voice reaching some very high notes and just pulling it off without feeling uncomfortable. This is a very strong debut, demonstrating great artistry and strong songwriting. I look forward to hearing more!
