I must put my hand up and say I was stunned by the quality of this album. I thought the band's first two independent EPs were let down by poor vocals but here Pak Chum demonstrates he is an excellent rock vocalist with some effecting inflections and no hint of the earlier deficiencies. Psonically, this is much heavier with plenty of gutsy layers of guitars courtesy of producer Pete Lozinski than I was expecting while the quality of the songwriting too is far better than early efforts. The band still have a punk rock base but now they take in influences from the whole pantheon of rock music from the Foo Fighters to Led Zeppelin and wherever you look there are strong, hook laden radio friendly songs. "What's Going On", "Beautiful One" and "Fight Another Day" are particularly noteworthy. The fact that they're a Chinese punk band from Newcastle has no doubt stimulated some people's interest. But this album shows they have the musical chops to follow through.
