Tom Fettke is well known as a composer in the States and this collection should win him support on this side of the pond. Twelve strong compositions for choir, arranged for orchestra by Dave Williamson, strike a wonderful balance between the classical heritage of church choir's or music group's repertoire. Companion materials include vocal and orchestral scores and an accompaniment tape or CD. The songs themselves are powerful with beautiful melody lines, worthwhile lyrics and four-part harmony to get your teeth into, the orchestration is a delight, appropriate and inspired, and the standard of performance throughout, from both singers and players, is immaculate. A couple of the tracks are for unaccompanied choir and both are real jewels, but the highlight for me is "Changed" with its powerful chorus outlined against the most creative of orchestration. Fabulous!
